NARHA instructor certification updates at Ride with Pride, Staunton, VA
August 28, 2010 - 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Free to TRAV members; $20 non-TRAV members
Presenter: Mary Jo Beckman
TRAV and Ride with Pride in Staunton are co-hosting an educational workshop focusing on NARHA certification updates. This will include discussions about the riding criteria and teaching styles.
In 2010, NARHA added educational material to the therapeutic riding instructor workshops so that they have been expanded to 2 1/2 days. Videos of teaching techniques and riding demonstrations are now part of the workshop and have been favorably received by the participants. This workshop is an opportunity for individuals who have earned their certification to view these videos, help analyze the teaching techniques and riding demos, and participate in class discussions. Individuals who want to become therapeutic riding instructors will gain valuable information prior to attending a workshop.

Highlights from the Annual TRAV & NARHA Region 3 Meeting
TRAV’s Annual Meeting was held in conjunction with the NARHA Region 3 conference in Roanoke, West Virginia March 19, 2010. In addition to being a time of renewing old acquaintances and making new friends, TRAV more than doubled its individual memberships!!
